What You Can Expect
Your day begins at 07:45 at the Walvis Bay Angling Club on Atlantic Street.
Scenic Coastal Drive:
Travel along the Walvis Bay Lagoon and salt mines towards Pelican Point, stopping to photograph flamingos, pelicans, cormorants, and other birdlife.
Seal Kayaking Adventure:
Upon arrival at Pelican Point, you’ll prepare for your kayaking experience with Eco Marine Kayak Tours. Paddle on the protected side of the peninsula, where up to 50,000 Cape Fur Seals live year-round.
These curious and playful animals often swim alongside the kayaks, creating a truly unforgettable wildlife encounter. The kayaking session lasts approximately two hours, depending on weather conditions.
Your guide will take photos with a waterproof camera during the activity, which will be emailed to you after the tour.
The kayaking portion concludes around 12:00.
Into the Namib Desert:
After a light snack, you’ll transfer into our 4x4 vehicle and head south into the Namib Desert — the oldest desert on Earth.
Experience:
• Beach driving along the coastline
• The dramatic coastal passage where dunes meet the Atlantic
• The legendary Sandwich Harbour (conditions permitting)
At Sandwich Bay, enjoy a picnic lunch with refreshments while surrounded by towering dunes and ocean views.
After lunch, explore the dune belt in search of desert wildlife including Springbok, Oryx, Ostrich, Jackal, and — if lucky — even a Brown Hyena.
Your adventure concludes back at the Walvis Bay Waterfront.
